Live stream recording: Ceremony 20:45 - 41:30 | Reception 1:00:30 - 1:24:45
Welcome
Thank you for joining us - we’re delighted that you’re celebrating with us! We’ve put together a few ways that you can celebrate and be a part of the weekend.
Watch the Wedding
We hired Cage + Aquarium to live stream the wedding and the recording of the live stream is available here. The recording contains the full live stream. Here's where to skip to for the:
Ceremony - 20:45 - 41:30
Toasts - 1:00:30 - 1:11:30
Dances - 1:11:30 - 1:21:45
Cake Cutting - 1:21:45 - 1:24:45
The wedding took place at Writers Theatre and the ceremony was officiated by Liz Rae & Co.
We’ve created a Spotify playlist for our wedding including our processional and first dance songs.
Our in-person reception also featured a jazz trio led by Kitt Lyles. You can listen to some music and find out where they'll be playing around Chicago by following Kitt's instagram.
We love to cook and share a meal with family and friends. We’ve put together a few recipes that you can make at home inspired by food from our in-person reception. Pair with a glass of Zaccagnini wine - a Grossi family favorite. Keep some bubbly on hand so you can toast with us. And don’t forget dessert! Get a slice or a whole cake in your favorite flavors (we won’t judge if you eat the whole cake - it has been a rough year and a half). Our reception had dinner by Blue Plate Catering and desserts from Bennison's Bakery, Hoosier Mama Pie Company, and La Piñata Bakery.
Misha and Merida have been hard at work sniffing out the best flavors for us to sip and enjoy throughout the day. Even though Merida is quite the party animal, she is underage and has a non-alcoholic recipe for everyone to enjoy!
Juice of 4-5 limes
Juice of 2 lemons
1-1.25 lbs of fish (sea bass, halibut, tilapia, cod, rockfish)
½ red onion diced
10-12 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
½ jalapeño finely chopped (adjust to your preferred level of heat)
Salt to taste
Cilantro, finely chopped
Juice lemons and limes in a glass bowl (do not use metal). You should have about 1-1.5 cups of juice total. Add garlic and jalapeño to the lime/lemon juice. Rinse fish under cold water and cut into ½” cubes. Add fish to the juice mixture, salt to taste, and stir. You can add the onion now, or for extra crispness, add the onion later. Cover the bowl and place in the fridge for 30min - 4 hours. Add cilantro (and onion if you didn’t already include it) to serve. Serves 3-4 people as an appetizer. Recommend eating in one sitting.
1 shallot, finely chopped
1 Fresno Chile or red jalapeño, finely chopped
3-4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
½ cup red wine vinegar
1 tsp Kosher salt, plus more to taste
½ cup finely chopped cilantro
¼ cup finely chopped flat-leaf parsley
2 tbsp finely chopped oregano
¾ cup extra-virgin olive oil
Combine shallot, chile, garlic, vinegar and 1 tsp salt in a medium bowl. Let sit for 10 minutes. Stir in cilantro, parsley, and oregano. Using a fork whisk in oil. Makes about 2 cups. Spoon over grilled meat.
2 cups cremini mushrooms
1 cup cherry tomatoes
1 red bell pepper, cut into chunks
1 green bell pepper, cut into chunks
1 red onion, cut into chunks
1 zucchini, sliced into thick rounds
1 yellow zucchini, sliced into thick rounds
1/4 cup olive oil
3 cloves garlic, pressed
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tbsp white wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
In a small bowl whisk the ingredients for the marinade. Thread the vegetables onto the skewers. Brush the vegetables with the marinade and let sit for 10-15 minutes. Grill until tender, about 10 minutes.
In lieu of favors, we have made donations to two special organizations.
To honor the organization that brought us together, we have made a donation to The Gamm Theatre. We met while interning at the Gamm over 10 years ago
To honor Juneteenth we have made a contribution to the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI). If you would like to learn more about EJI, we recommend reading Just Mercy by Bryan Stevenson or watching the film. To learn more about Juneteenth, we recommend listening to this podcast by The Daily.
Thank you again for celebrating our special day. We wish we were all together, but we’re glad that technology has enabled us to be with you virtually. We’re looking forward to seeing you in-person soon!
